Published at : 18 Dec 2025

On this date at approximately this time, Corporal Desmond Benton and I were assisting Washington County Sheriff's Office with apprehending the attached subject. The subject, Jacob Kenneth Dunn (D.O.B. 10/04/1993), had an outstanding felony warrant and has fled from law enforcement numerous times in the recent weeks. Once behind the attached vehicle, a gray 2019 Kia Sorento displaying an Arkansas license plate of JAETAE1, Washington
County Sheriff's Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle after positively identifying Dunn as the driver. After attempting to conduct the traffic stop, the vehicle refused to stop and began to flee. At this time, Washington County Deputies
requested State Police to take over the pursuit and I became the primary pursuit unit near Emma Avenue and Old Missouri Road. The vehicle continued east on Emma Avenue before turning south onto Huntsville Avenue. After turning west onto Don Tyson Parkway, I performed a T.V.I. on the vehicle. The vehicle regained control and began to travel eastbound on Don Tyson
before turning south onto Butterfield Coach Road.
As the vehicle continued south on Butterfield Coach, Corporal Desmond Benton became the primary unit. The vehicle turned south onto Old Wire Road before turning west onto Joyce Boulevard. Troopers Richard Surrette and Alexandria Duncan entered the pursuit at Joyce Boulevard and Vantage Drive. The vehicle continued westbound through College Avenue. The
vehicle turned south onto Steele Boulevard and continued to travel south in the northbound lanes of traffic before entering back into the southbound lanes. The vehicle turned west onto Shiloh Drive before turning south onto Gregg Avenue. Trooper Surrette then became the primary pursuit unit. After the vehicle turned west onto North Street, Trooper Surrette
attempted a T.V.I. and the vehicle swerved into Trooper Surrette’s unit causing it to become disabled. Corporal Benton again took primary in the pursuit and the vehicle then turned west onto Weddington Drive. As the vehicle was attempting to turn north onto Steamboat Drive, Corporal Benton used his T.V.I. bumper to push the vehicle into the curb, stopping the vehicle. Corporal Benton and Trooper Duncan performed a felony takedown on the vehicle and detained all occupants. The driver, Jacob Dunn was released to Washington County Deputies and both passengers were released without charges.

Dunn was charged accordingly by Washington County Sheriff’s Office and with the following charges from ASP: 5-54-125(d)(3) 2023: FLEEING - FELONY - VEHICLE OR CONVEYANCE - SUBSTANTIAL DANGER OF DEATH 5-38-203(b)(3): CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - 1ST DEGREE (DAMAGE $5,000 $25,000)
