Whilst I was exposed to a lot of Fleetwood Mac in Australia in the 70s and 80s, Songbird only came onto my radar when I first heard Eva Cassidy's beautiful version. I wanted to cover the song and listened to a lot of tracks by different artists for inspiration. But it was Christine's solo piano and singing that proved to be the winning influence. The phrasing of the lyrics was a challenge for me to replicate, especially when trying to maintain some semblance of rhythm otherwise. Have I told you how much I like sus2? Well, this song is full of them.

The camera is positioned to give the best view of my hands so it can serve somewhat as a tutorial. I am playing a Yamaha P515 digital piano.
