Segamat, a town in Johor, Malaysia, has seen various new developments and building projects in recent years, contributing to its growth and modernization. Some key developments include:
The new KTM station in Segamat is part of the effort to enhance the town's connectivity and infrastructure. This modern station is designed to accommodate the expanded ETS services, making travel more convenient for residents and visitors
The ETS (Electric Train Service) in Malaysia is a popular mode of travel for its speed and convenience. However, as of now, the ETS does not run directly from Segamat to Singapore. Instead, passengers from Segamat can take the ETS to Gemas, where they can transfer to the KTM Intercity or Shuttle Tebrau services that connect to Singapore.
Here's how you can travel from Segamat to Singapore using the train services:
1.ETS from Segamat to Gemas: The ETS services from Segamat provide a comfortable and quick journey to Gemas. This is a major interchange where you can connect to other train services.
2.Transfer at Gemas: Upon arrival in Gemas, you can transfer to the KTM Intercity service. This will take you south towards Johor Bahru.
3.Shuttle Tebrau from Johor Bahru to Singapore: From Johor Bahru Sentral (JB Sentral), you can take the Shuttle Tebrau train, which is a direct service to Woodlands Train Checkpoint in Singapore. The Shuttle Tebrau is a popular choice due to its short travel time and convenience in crossing the Malaysia-Singapore border.
Make sure to check the latest schedules and book your tickets in advance, as these trains, especially the Shuttle Tebrau, can get fully booked quickly.
