Film presentation
Horizon: An American Saga is an epic divided into four parts, written and starring Kevin Costner. The film was presented at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 19, 2024.
Financing difficulties
Kevin Costner had difficulty obtaining financing for the film, which cost 100 million dollars. The actor invested part of his fortune in the production, including the mortgage on his ranch.
Audience reception
The audience gave Kevin Costner a standing ovation for 10 minutes after the film was shown. The actor cried and received an even longer standing ovation.
Considerations about the film
Some critics consider that the film drags on for three hours and that it does not have strong enough images to make the incoherence a kitsch charm.
