How a Feature Film Is Mixed in Dolby Atmos

Published at : 18 Dec 2025

In this behind-the-scenes video, we step into the Dolby Atmos mix at Belmont University in Nashville, where the Defacto Sound team and I finalize the Sketch Movie, directed by Seth Worley.

You’ll see how months of sound design, foley, and creature effects come together, and how Atmos objects are placed for full 3D immersion. You’ll also get a look at the final Dolby Print Master, with composer Cody Fry in the audience hearing the mix for the first time.
