The PoE++ employs all 4 twisted cat5e/cat6 cables to send the power which can achieve up to 90W high power. The PoE/PoE+ only output 30W maximum PoE power. The PoE++ switch increases about 3 times the power budget than regular PoE. However, it needs both PoE injector/switch and your IP Devices to support PoE++ to achieve a 90W power budget. Otherwise, the 90W PoE injector will be set to 30W. There is auto-power negotiation between the PoE injector and the edge device. In this video, you will see how a 90W PoE++ injector can work with a fixed IP camera which only needs a 10W power budget.
