Visiting Komodo Island was one of my BIGGEST bucket-list adventures: Sailing for a day trip around Komodo National Park and Flores Island in Indonesia!

We started our journey from Bali to Labuan Bajo by Air Asia. Next morning we set sail between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores to see pink beaches, Komodo dragons, panoramic views from Padar Island and rich marine life, and breathtaking views of Taka Makassar Island and Manta Ray Snorkeling point. This popular, beautiful hidden paradise is littered with amazing photo spots and a heaven for scuba-diver and adventure seekers.
Trip to Komodo Island sounds like something out of a fantasy novel with its real-life Komodo Dragons, barbie-pink beaches, jaw-dropping viewpoints, and a whole host of colorful fishes, dolphins, manta rays and turtles.
It’s almost guaranteed that you will see a Komodo Dragon, and don’t be disheartened if you don’t see one on the trail. You can often find them lazing on the beach.
If you wish to fly a drone in Komodo National Park, you must purchase a flight license at the National Park Office in Labuan Bajo 3 days prior to the start of your trip. The cost of the license is 1,000,000 IDR ($62).
