🧊 Swapping Nest for Ecobee: Worth It?
We pulled out the 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat—one of the most important pieces of our smart home—and replaced it with the Ecobee Premium. On paper, it looked like a win: better sensors, HomeKit compatibility, and a break from Homebridge hacks.
But that change came with its own learning curve. And heat. Literal heat.
In this episode, I break down why we didn’t go with the Nest 4th Gen (even though it supports Matter), how Ecobee’s Follow Me feature actually behaves, and what it’s been like retraining our brains—and our thermostat.
This isn’t sponsored. I bought the Ecobee with my own money, and if you're a Costco member, you can get an extra smart sensor in the box for the same price.
