Tuya's New Home Assistant Integration Just Saved The Smart Home Industry

Tuya is about to go local with their official Tuya integration 2.0 for Home assistant and this is a massive deal for the Smart Home industry whether you use Home Assistant or not! Tuya's new focus on local based tech and an open development platform proves that an industry giant is actually interested in giving you back control of your smart home. The new Tuya Home Assistant integration is currently in beta and is not yet localised, but local support is officially on the road map!

This video is sponsored by Tuya, all opinions are my own.

Whether you use Alexa, or Google Home, or even Philips Hue (god forbid) this is a huge turning point for the Smart Home industry, as it shows a major player is willing to do the right thing. In an industry where Philips Hue is happy to kill your smart home bridge from across the Internet through panned obsolescence, and IFTTT is happy to start charging for services you already paid for, Tuya are making the opposite move and giving you the opportunity to drop the cloud!
