The faint sound of a rooster crowing in the morning interrupts the image of Uncle Boonchuay, a 62-year-old man walking out of his backyard with an old coffee cup.
He sits on a wooden bench, proudly gazing at the 20 papaya trees planted in a row.
"At first, I didn't think...that just growing them for my own consumption would turn into a serious income,"
Uncle Boonchuay chuckles before continuing.
"But once they started bearing fruit...oh my! I could harvest almost 10-15 a day. Some days I even have to call Aunt Saeng to help."
