Olkhovaya metro station, Moscow, Russia 🇷🇺🤩🚇

Olkhovaya is a Moscow Metro station on the Sokolnicheskaya Line , located in the Kommunarka district ( NAO ) near the border with the settlement of Kommunarka at the intersection of the Solntsevo-Butovo-Varshavskoye Shosse highway and Kaluga Highway . Its name comes from Olkhovaya Street in the nearby village of Sosenki. It was opened on June 20, 2019, as part of the Salaryevo - Novomoskovskaya section. By design, it is a shallow - level single-span station with an island platform.

In December 2017, the design of the station was approved by the Moscow Committee for Architecture, its main feature was the use of the origami architectural style, the techniques of which were borrowed from the art of the same name.
Overall, the station features a tree-inspired theme.
With white square tiles placed in "square diamond" positions, the walls of Olkhovaya station somewhat resemble Profsoyznaya metro station. However, the bottom edges are slightly pocking from the walls: this pattern resembles tree cones.
The station's hall has amber-like mosaic featuring trees in autumn (with yellow/orange leaves).
The lights have a similar source of tree-relates inspiration, resembling "winged" seeds of trees.
The very name of the station comes from "Olkha", Russian word for alder.
