Nick Reiner made his first court appearance after being charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of his parents, Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele, who were found stabbed to death in their Brentwood home. Prosecutors allege Nick fled the scene, stayed at a Santa Monica hotel where blood was later found, and was arrested hours later at a gas station, with reports describing erratic behavior following a heated argument with his father at a Hollywood party the night before. In court, Reiner appeared briefly out of view as his attorney requested a delay to enter a plea, with the judge setting the next hearing for January 7 while the death penalty remains a possibility.
