But there are some players that Magnus has such little respect for, he’s willing to open with “troll” openings designed to mock and humiliate his opponents. And this perfectly describes how he feels about GM Vladimir Kramnik!
In this shocking game, Magnus Carlsen opens with 1…h6, 2…e6, and 3…a6 vs GM Vladimir Kramnik. From there he actually continues to push exclusively his pawns for several more moves, before finally being forced to play a more “normal” game! This strategy worked to perfection in this game, as by move 8 Magnus was already in the lead, and from there he sunk his teeth into poor old Vladimir and crushed him with his trademark 100% machine accuracy!
