I bought the cheapest hydrofoil on the entire internet — a high-aspect, factory-direct wing from Alibaba that cost a fraction of what premium brands charge.
And look… this video did not go the way I expected.

I’ve been foiling since the early kite-foil days and now do everything: downwind, surf, pump, wing, parawing, FoilDrive… I’m fully foil-brained. So when a suspiciously cheap hydrofoil popped up on my feed, curiosity got the better of me. Could a budget foil actually compete with the gear that costs 5–10x more?
