Happy 7th birthday to Thandie! - Zoo Antwerpen (Belgium) - Zoovenirs (98)

25/11/25 - gorilla girl Thandie is celebrating her 7th birthday today!
She often keeps away from the windows. It's mostly during feeding time that l get her in sight and then not always clearly because of the reflections.
Do you remember Thandie broke her leg in June? After 8 weeks enduring a cast, the X-rays showed that the double fracture had healed properly. During the continuous changes of the cast, Thandie bonded with one of the zookeepers and allowed her to massage her leg and foot after the last cast was removed. Thanks to this daily treatment, Thandie can move again like she used to.
During my zoo visit on 21/11/25, l watched Thandie and her mother Mayani in the usual gorilla enclosure, outdoors and indoors.
I'm showing clips that l collected during several visits. On this day, her birthday, it was impossible for me to go see her because of a 3-days strike of public transportation.
