A woman in St. Petersburg, Florida called 911 claiming a stranger broke into her apartment and raped her while she cared for her baby, even providing police with a photo of the alleged suspect. Investigators soon discovered the image came from a viral TikTok AI trend and that extensive police work, including DNA collection, had all been triggered by a fabricated story. The caller later admitted she made it up for attention, pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor false-report charges, and was sentenced to probation with a condition banning her from TikTok.
