A video from August 2024, recorded at RAF Mildenhall of a US Air Force KC-135 aircraft landing and declaring an emergency,
The aircraft landed successfully, shortly after landing the tower radioed the aircraft to inform them that smoke could be seen from the landing gear. The aircraft came to a stop on the taxi way and the fire department was called out.
After a short period of time (before the fire department had attended) the flight crew decided to taxi the aircraft. However they then seen further smoke from the landing gear, stopped the aircraft again and declared an emergency. All flight operations where suspended at RAF Mildenhall.
The fire department attended and after some tine, the aircraft was allowed to be moved from the taxi way, given the all clear and flight operations where resumed.
