Hey everyone, so today we're making another hot chocolate bomb, but with a twist! We're adding some coffee, or expresso to the mix to liven things up. Lets jump right into it.
You'll need
4 oz chocolate chips
1/8 teaspoon fat, lard, oil, shortening
hot cocoa powder, linked below, as much as you like, I used 2 tablespoons per bomb
instant coffee, or expresso powder, I used 1 tablespoon per bomb, but that is a ton of coffee flavor, so I recommend that you use 1 teaspoon to start and see how you like it.
Melt the chocolate with the fat in the microwave, 30 sec at at time, stirring after every 30 secs. I used the melt chocolate feature on my microwave and it worked perfectly. Now brush the molds with the melted chocolate, put into the freezer until set, so around 15-30 mins. Repeat, chill completely. I recommend that you wear gloves, pop out the chocolate bowls, and melt the edges on a hot plate. Now fill with your cocoa mix, coffee, and marshmallows, then add the lid. Decorate if you like. I used Dolce de Leche, coffee powder, and chocolate chips on top. I have a second bomb linked below.
*Some notes, this is a play on a Caffe Mocha, and not meant as a traditional version. You can play with the amount of coffee or expresso you like, want to just taste it in the background? Start at 1 teaspoon, want to see sound (like me) go up to 1 tablespoon. Make this your own, and you cant go wrong. I also like to make my chocolate bombs extra special by using vanilla milk, linked below :)
